Mission Statement
Our mission is to empower Americans by fostering community engagement, enhancing emotional literacy, and developing conflict resolution skills. Through advocacy and political activism, we aim to equip young leaders with the tools and knowledge to drive meaningful change in their communities and beyond. We are committed to building a network of informed, resilient, and proactive individuals who are prepared to navigate and reshape the political and social landscape with confidence and integrity.
Promoting Emotional Intelligence, conflict resolution skills, and solutions to our collective issues.
About Me
My name is Gerald Thomas. I was born in the South and raised in California. In 2013, I opened a custom clothing store a lifelong dream that came to life after a powerful shift in how I viewed the world and the culture I was a part of. That journey wasn’t easy. It was shaped by struggle, self-reflection, and pain. But I came to realize something important: pain has purpose. Through that purpose, I found my calling to be the change I wanted to see.
I began to think differently, act intentionally, develop conflict resolution skills, and deepen my emotional intelligence. I started understanding not only my emotions but also the triggers behind them. That self-awareness became a tool for transformation.
That growth led to the founding of Forward Movement Initiative (FMI) a nonprofit rooted in healing, empowerment, and action. FMI exists to spark real change in our community by equipping our youth and others with the same tools I used: self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a desire to be part of the solution-not the problem.
My mission is to give back what I was not afforded, and to help others rise with purpose just as I did.

FMI Operates as a nonprofit organization offering community-focused programs, While our goal is social impact rather than profit,We generate revenue through donations and various funding sources to sustain and expand our mission such as collaborating with local small business, to offer our members a discount and practice group economics.
